Where are my glasses??

I had to start wearing glasses to read and do needlework about 3 years ago = you know that age thing. I am not nearsighted = I don't need glasses for driving, reading billboards, etc... I started seeing an eye specialist about a year ago because I was experiencing some strange symptoms and since glaucoma runs in my family and the thought of having a serious eye problem scares me I didn't want to take any chances. The verdict: I was on the borderline of having glaucoma and my MD wanted to monitor it, so I go every 6 months for a checkup. (Once you start using the drops to keep your pressure down you can never stop using the drops). I wear bifocals - the progressive kind which cost about $200 from Walmart. I have misplaced my glasses more times than I like to admit. I recently lost them (a new pair purchased 6 months ago) after seeing my MD and my prescription had changed. So, I had to fork out another $200. When I picked them up, Walmart had these cute little holders and I couldn't resist. These are my new glasses resting on my new "nurse" holder. Now I just have to remember to put the glasses on the holder - I have always had a bad habit of just laying my glasses down anywhere - plus, I tend to put them over the top of my blouse, dress, whatever I am wearing - and of course when I bend over - off fall the glasses. I have tried those necklace thingies to hold my glasses but I just don't like them. I am definitely going to make a effort to be more careful.

So ugly, she's kind of cute?

Over the last few years I have purchased cheap glasses to use for short periods and I have them all over the house and office just in case... I bought these from the $ bins at Target last week. I also got these cute little Halloween tins:

I love those $ bins - you can really get some cute things.

I really didn't need to buy anymore glasses - this is my collection:

I had no idea I had this many until I put them all together.
I have them everywhere: every room, every drawer, in my car, purse. There is nothing worse than getting to a restaurant and discover you left your glasses at home - so I always keep a pair of these in my purse. They are ok for a short time, but they hurt my eyes if I use them for an extended period. (I have tried all strengths, the 1.25 or 1.50 is the best for me).

Hi Peggy-
Thanks for your nice comment. My sis in law was looking for that pattern and it's not on the MS website anymore. Its weird because there are so many other old patterns on there. Anyway, if you want to leave me your address in comments I'll make you a copy and send it. Or, if you don't want your address on there you can just send me your email address and I'll email you and get it. Either way I'll delete your info off the comments once I get it written down so it won't be floating out there in cyberspace! (not that anyone but family and friends read my blog anyway!)
Take care and hope to hear from you soon,
