Keeping cool

It was hot in Florida and it is hot here!! But these Margarita's are so yummy and help you cool down in the pool.  Cathy, my sister in law made these for us when we were at their home for a visit and shared the recipe...thank you it is the best.

We were sitting on our front porch the other night and the sky was so beautiful...
We are having a great blackberry crop this year.
My Daylillies.
Our first Gladiola to bloom.
I had to bring some of our Hydrangeas in the house - they are my favorite.
This is the sky in Florida, so different from here in Virginia....gorgeous!

Florida Vacation

Dave and I enjoyed our vacation in Florida - we were in New Smyrna Beach for a week.  Pam, Tracie's mother in law owns this great condo and we loved our stay!!Two pools but we headed for the beach every day.It was very hot, our first day not a breeze all day, but we headed for the water to cool off.   Me taking a snooze. We went exploring every day.  This draw bridge took us over to a great restaurant. We ate outside.Lovely flowers everywhere. This is a Bed and Breakfast next to the restaurant.  And this lovely gift shop inside. This was in the rest room.

The food was great.
This was right down from where we stayed.  Bar/restaurant on the beach.
The beach looking out from the restaurant.
Found this huge Target in Daytona.
..and this yarn shop.
We went to this restaurant twice.  So good.  Highly recommended by Tracie.  I had the prime rib both nights - its was the best!
Pina Colada!
Dave loves his oysters on the half shell.
We went to a "Seaside Festival".  A storm developed - which put a damper on things.
We headed for shelter - at a Mexican restaurant.
Hoola hoop contest.  These kids were so cute.
After we checked out on Saturday we headed south to visit Dave's brother and family in Clewiston Florida.  We stopped at Cocoa Beach on the way.
Found the best knit shop.
Dave and his gorgeous niece, Lauren.

It was so great spending time with family - just didn't last long enough.
Then we headed back to Orlando to visit our nephew Terrance and his wife Laura and their one month old son - Connor.

Connor is adorable.
I did get some knitting done in the car - Flip-Flop washcloth.Dragon fly cloth.Bikini cloth.
Sleeves to Meg's sweater.Warren - the cutest puppy ever.  He is very smart - Terence and Laura's other baby.
I can definitely find a gift shop!
