Football Trips Continued

I wanted to post a few more pictures from our trip. It was back to Blacksburg on Thursday, October 26. Tech plays Clemson. I was sick with a cold so I stayed at the hotel, which was probably a good decision. It rained for a short while at the begining of the game but it didn't get as cold as it could have. Dave lost the keys to the car when he got to Blacksburg, had to call AAA and waited until 1:00 in the morning for them, towed the car to the dealership and got back to the hotel at 2:00 AM! The key was ready early on Friday. What a ordeal for Dave. But he was happy - Tech played a great game and won over Clemson!

Another Hokie Bird

A restaurant in Blacksburg that I had been wanting to try. Dave wasn't that crazy about it. I loved it.

Margaritas and chips with salsa

Dave had a tuna wrap and I had grilled tuna in a taco shell with black beans and vegies. YUM!

Upstairs in the same restaurant there were pool tables and this nice area with a plasma TV to watch some games before heading over to the stadium

Outside the stadium

The game was great. It was chilly but not bad

Lots of fireworks. Go Hokies!

Foot ball trips

It college football season and my husband is at his happiest. We have been going to the Virginia Tech football games since I met Dave. Dave is a graduate and is a true Hokie. We have had so much fun over the years. Friday the 20th we left for Roanoke (we stay at the Colony House). The game wasn't until 7 PM on Saturday so we had the whole day to shop at some of our favorite places and enjoy the beautiful fall day. The leaves were vibrant and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Best of all, the Hokie's won the game over Southern Mississipi. I take advantage of the time spent in the car and knit. I have several projects going and I am on a time line. In the works is a baby afghan for Dave's grandaughter due on November 7th! and I have made one pumpkin hat for the twins and working on the other. They don't care for hats that much but hopefully they will keep them on long enough for a picture. I'll post more pictures later.

On 460 headed towards Blacksburg

Dixie Caverns - a favorite to visit every football season.

A view from the car.

There is a contest in Blacksburg. Hokie birds painted in all sorts of designs - very cool. We only had time to take a couple pictures.

My first blogging week

It has been a busy week and I still am not sure what I am doing with this blog but I don't want to put off posting any longer. I am still learning how to do all this computer "stuff" so bear with me. I went to the pumpkin patch last weekend with my daughter, Amy, son-in-law, Paul and the twins ( Alex and Meighan Rose) and Sami was here so that made it even more special. We had a very fun time, but it was very crowded so we didn't stay long since the twins still aren't very good waiting in line. We had lunch at our favorite hamburger restaurant "Five Guys". Dave was at home watching Saturday college football games. We kept the twins today - they were very good especially considering that they would not take a nap. We went to visit Amy at her office and went out to lunch. Her coworkers had not seen Alex and Meighan in quite a while. I am going to attempt to post some pictures, so bear with me.

This is my very first post! I am so excited. I have wanted a blog for a very long time. I have visited so many blogs over the last year and have learned so much. So, thanks to my very smart daughter, I am entering the blogging world and I can't wait to post about all the things that I enjoy and love in my life!
