Busy Day

We had a great day!  First, we went to the Flea Market - Alex got this robut - not sure who he is but it is made by Radio
Shack - Dave is going to check with them tomorrow about a remote control.Alex loves it.Meg got a two - wheeler with training wheels and a helmet.Emmy also picked out some cool stuff - a Bow and a Japanese Umbrella.Meighan in her patriotic 2 piece.Went for a swim.Headed to Chesterfield Fair Grounds for the big 4th of July celebration.  We got there at 5 when the gates opened.  Pretty bare....we had a picnic of fried chicken, potato salad and cupcakes. This is the bow Emmy bought for $1.00.There was a cute puppet show.Meg waved her little American Flag during the performance. After the show the kids got to see one of the puppets. There was live music - the band was wonderful. Patriotic Jello.  Grandpa and Meg dancing. The crowd grew - so much so that Kari and her family couldn't get in.  They got stuck in traffic (around 7pm) - the roads were blocked and no further admissions were allowed.  Cotton Candy!Fun, Fun, Fun!!!  Sorry the rest of the family couldn't join us.  The fireworks were awesome.  Well worth the wait.  This is a free event and was enjoyed by many. The County did a wonderful job!!The Exit - wasn't as bad as we thought it would be.  Very well organized.A very late night.  The kids had a quick bath, a walk through the garden to see our night lights, for a calming effect - finally asleep at 11:30 pm.
Hope everyone had as good a July 4th as we did.
We are so lucky, God Bless America!
